Privacy
HighHub helps adults 21+ in New Jersey find cannabis at licensed dispensaries and compare prices. You don't need an account to use it, and we don't sell your data or show ads.
What you share and what happens to it
- Where you are. When you share your location or type an address, it's sent to our server to find nearby stores. The Android app asks only for approximate location. Street addresses are looked up with the U.S. Census Bureau's geocoder. We don't keep your location with anything that identifies you. The web app remembers the last place you chose in your browser so you don't have to enter it again; the Android app keeps it only while it's open.
- What you search for. Searches go to our server to find matching products. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (IP address, the address requested, the time) for a limited period to run and secure the service.
- How you'd like to feel ("Help me choose"). Picking feelings sends only those feelings. If you type a description, it's sent only after you tick the box agreeing to it. We treat it as sensitive: it's sent in the body of the request, not the address, and our server doesn't store or log it, or the feelings it maps to. To read it, we send the text (and nothing that identifies you) to Anthropic's Claude AI, which returns a short list of feelings and is used under Anthropic's commercial terms. Your agreement is remembered on your device so you aren't asked every time.
- Questions you ask the HighHub expert. The expert chat sends your conversation (and nothing that identifies you) to Anthropic's Claude AI to write the answer, under Anthropic's commercial terms; Claude may run a web search on trusted sites to answer general questions. Your app keeps the conversation while it's open; our server doesn't store or log it, and it's never linked to your account. If you tap "Report this answer", we save only that answer's text and whether it was a shopping or growing chat, never your question, so our team can fix it.
- Your age. Your answer to "Are you 21 or older?" is remembered on your device only.
- Your account, if you make one. Accounts are optional. If you create one with a username, we keep the username, the email address if you give one, and your password stored only as a one-way scrambled hash (we can't read it). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, your email address and an account ID from Google, and keep them to recognize you next time; we never see or store your Google password. While you're signed in, the website keeps a sign-in cookie (and the Android app a sign-in token) that ends after 30 days or when you sign out. We store when you created the account and last signed in. Your searches, location and anything you tell "Help me choose" are never linked to your account.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no tracking cookies, no selling or renting data. The only cookie we set is the sign-in cookie, and only if you sign in.
- No in-app orders or payments. Ordering happens on the dispensary's own website, under its own privacy policy.
- We never share anything about your mood or health. If we ever report on how HighHub is used, it will be aggregated and anonymized, and we'll update this page first.
Services we use
Google Cloud (hosting), Neon (our database of dispensary menus and prices, and of accounts for people who make one), Anthropic (reading typed moods and writing expert answers, as above), the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder (addresses), Google Play services on Android (approximate location), and Google sign-in only if you choose to use it, under Google's own privacy policy.
Your choices
You can use HighHub without sharing your location (type a town instead) and without typing a mood (pick feelings instead). Clearing your browser's site data, or the Android app's storage, removes what's remembered on your device.
Deleting your account
Sign in, open your account (the person icon at the top of the website, or Account in the Android app) and choose Delete my account. Your account, its linked Google sign-in and all sign-in sessions are deleted right away. If you can't sign in any more, email us at the address below from the account's email address and we'll delete it. To also remove HighHub's access on the other company's side, remove HighHub from the apps connected to your Google account.
